FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

The February 13, 2024 meeting of the Central New York Car Club Association was called to order at 7:01 PM by Mike Mastracco, President.

If you have not yet paid your CCA dues, please get them in as soon as possible.   Make sure to include the date of your car show, if applicable.

We received an email from the Rhythm n’ Shoes band.  They do 50’s & 60’s music for car shows. If interested, call/text Ed at 315-243-1655.

Also received an email from Jolene, who is looking for a ride in a car for her 90 year old father, who lives in Binghamton.  She would prefer a 1955 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible or a 1961 Olds Sports Couple, but would accept another vehicle of that time frame.  There is no specific date in mind other than the sooner the better given her Dad’s age.  He will be turning 91 on April 11th.  Her contact info is taibiono@gmail.com.

Another email from Marie Malyszek looking for a “really cool vintage car” to take her niece, who is getting married in August in Binghamton, to the church and reception.  The owner will be compensated and be able to stay with his/her car.  Contact her at marie@damlegacyentertainment.com.

American High Production of Liverpool is looking for vehicles for a movie – 2015-2022 sedan or hatchback (Jetta, Saab, Subaru, etc.); 2012-2016 sedan (Honda, Toyota); 2015-2022 Prius; very small car with a sunroof (mini Cooper, Fiat). Contact annie@andcasting.com.  Website is https://americanhigh.com/contact/

Cavalcade of Cars Thruway Series 2024.  It will be in Hamburg on March 1, 2, and 3, and Syracuse on March 23 & 24. Applications are available online. Presale tickets are available at Advanced Auto.  Any questions, call 1-585-503-5304 or 1-585-469-5060.

Syracuse Nationals will be July 19, 20 & 21.   At the date of the meeting, camping was almost full.

BOCESDon McNabb from Cayuga County BOCES is looking for car parts they can use to create trophies for their car show.  He can be contacted at 315-406-1503.

Show schedules will be printed before the Cavalcade of Cars.

The Treasurer’s report was presented by Paula Stillwell and placed on file.

The Association encourages all car club members to join the SEMA Action Network. Membership is free, and you will be kept informed on all upcoming legislation and how it impacts our hobby.  See the latest issues of Driving Force by clicking here.

The 50/50 of $42 was won by Joe Olmsted of the Pontiac Club of CNY.
